Contradictions of Joy
The abstract imagery of the work is complemented by a peotical quip that the melody of a songbird while being sweet can also be f atally overwhelming – in other words, in joy there is sorrow too.
This artwork was produced in 1993, acrylic and ink on paper mounted on canvas, its size is approximately 123cm x 150cm. The artwork is in the collection of the Smithsonian Institute, Washington.
