Al Haa ‘informal Debate’ - A Tribute to Ambitious Dreams

Al Haa ‘informal Debate’ - A Tribute to Ambitious Dreams

"Al Haa: A Tribute to Ambitious Dreams" is an artwork that explores the relationship between the aspirations of the soul and the limitations of the body. At the center of the piece is a line of poetry by the esteemed poet Abu Al Tayyib Al Mutanabbi: "Great souls carry enormously ambitious dreams but all that for the misfortune of their earthly bodies." This thought-provoking artwork invites the viewer to consider the power of ambition and the human desire to achieve greatness, and to reflect on the challenges that we all face in trying to realize our dreams.

Here are a few more examples of poems by Abu Al Tayyib Al Mutanabbi that explore similar themes:

"I dream of greatness, of leaving my mark
Of making a difference, of making it start
But alas, my earthly body holds me back
It reminds me of my limitations, of what I lack
But still, I hold on to my ambitious dreams
For I know that in my heart, anything is possible, it seems"

"Our bodies are but vessels, temporary and frail
But within them resides a soul, enduring and unchanging
It is the soul that drives us, that fuels our ambition and desire
But the body, it can only do so much, it can only take us so far
We must balance the two, and find a way to bridge the divide
For it is only then that we can truly live, and truly thrive"

Measuring 113cm x 104cm and crafted from acrylic on paper mounted on canvas, "Al Haa: A Tribute to Ambitious Dreams" is a beautifully crafted artwork that speaks to the universal human experience of striving for greatness. It currently resides with a private collector, where it continues to inspire and engage the viewer's imagination. With its exploration of the relationship between the soul and the body, this piece serves as a reminder that, while our earthly bodies may have their limitations, our ambition and desire to achieve greatness are boundless and unstoppable.

Tughra: Whispers of Wisdom: An Artistic Tribute to Abul Ala Al Ma’arri

In his artwork titled "Tughra," Ali Omar Ermes incorporates a powerful verse from the philosopher-poet Abul Ala Al Ma’arri. The verse speaks to the idea that when one speaks of the truth, they must do so softly and with caution, as the truth can often be unpopular or unwelcome. In contrast, when one speaks of things that are implausible or untrue, they can do so loudly and without fear of reprisal. This observation is particularly relevant in today's world, where it is often easier to speak out and make bold claims, regardless of their veracity.
